Neighborhood Ministry
Following the completion of St. Mary's Parish Center in 1986, Joan
Souser organized and brought together a small group of parishoners to
provide coffee hours/luncheon receptions for families and friends following
funeral services at our Church. Besides Joan, the other friends were Ann
Duff, Anna Gottschalk, Anne McCarthy and Angie Saunders. Sadly, Angie's
reception would be the first held.
Today, we also provide Rosary and Communion service Monday mornings
at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount
Morris. Contact Anne McCarthy.
We deliver Christmas poinsettias to our shut-ins. Contact Georgene

By far, the ministry requiring the most resources is the coffee
hour/luncheon reception following funerals. The parish is divided into
four neighborhood groups, each headed by a coordinator(s), and each
reception is truly a team effort. We are always in need of those willing
to provide food, make calls, shop and of course the biggest gift of all to
work, or do dishes the day of the funeral so that this ministry may always
continue for those in need.
